Custom Laser-Engraved Wall Badge or Patch Plaque

Turn a department badge, shoulder patch, company emblem, or other approved design into a large-format wooden wall display. Each piece is laser engraved at high detail, cut to the artwork perimeter, hand cleaned, sanded, and finished for display.

Sizes and materials

• 1/2-inch Baltic birch plywood: available with a longest edge of up to 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, or 48 inches.
• Pine: available with a longest edge of up to 12, 18, 24, or 30 inches.

Prices for 48-inch plaques are starting prices and assume typical badge or patch proportions. Exceptionally wide, dense, or full-background designs may require a custom quote after artwork review.

Finish options

• Natural engraving with polyurethane top coat: available on Baltic birch and pine.
• Single-color epoxy-filled engraving with polyurethane top coat: available on Baltic birch.
• Multi-color epoxy-filled engraving with polyurethane top coat: includes up to three epoxy colors and is available on Baltic birch.

Standard epoxy pricing covers clearly separated, suitable engraved regions totaling up to approximately 20% of the plaque face. Dense fills, adjacent colors without a wood divider, gradients, metallic or translucent effects, more than three colors, and formal color matching require review and may be quoted separately. Epoxy colors are approximate unless a custom color-matching service is included in the quote.

Production process

• LightBurn setup from approved production-ready vector artwork
• CO₂ laser engraving using an approximately 0.2 mm spot size and approximately 500 LPI
• Up to two engraving passes using a cross-hatch pattern when the design requires it
• Laser-cut perimeter
• Hand cleaning, sanding, edge cleanup, selected epoxy work, and polyurethane top coat

Artwork requirements

Product pricing includes review of one customer-supplied production-ready AI, EPS, SVG, or vector PDF file, production scaling and positioning, perimeter cut-path setup, one digital proof, and one round of minor corrections. For epoxy finishes, supplied vector artwork must contain clearly separated color regions.

Raster-to-vector conversion, detailed badge or patch reconstruction, manual color separation, substantial revisions, and original graphic design are not included. Add the appropriate Artwork Preparation & Vector Conversion or Original Graphic Design service as a separate line item when needed.

Wood grain, tone, knots, and engraving contrast vary naturally. Final dimensions follow the proportions of the approved artwork and will not necessarily be square.
